Oh oh The Hague

july 22nd 2023

This week I stumbled upon a 1958 edition of reel 1906 "The Hague". Sit tight and I'll show you the (ahem) spectacular differences between the 1953 version that you probably have in your collection, and the 1958 edition that I lucked into.

Okay, so at first glance they look almost identical. All subjects are the same except for slide number 6, which has changed from "flowers" to "herring".

But wait a minute, they also changed the pictures for "Peace palace" and "Scheveningen Beach"!!!!!

Slide 4, "The Peace palace" 1953 vs 1958. (in cross-eye stereo)

Slide 6, "Flowers: fresh today" 1953 vs "The herring fleet of Scheveningen is ready" 1958. (in cross-eye stereo)

Slide 7, "Scheveningen beach-popular summer resort" 1953 vs 1958. (in cross-eye stereo)

Summary :
